Residents of the North Pole are accustomed to keeping secrets.  They swear never to disclose the location of Santa’s Workshop, and they keep Santa’s identity anonymous.

A Santa Claus serves for a term.  When he retires, he appoints his successor.  Most retired Santas then leave the North Pole and travel the world with their spouses.

The current Santa showed no signs of retiring.  In recent years, he bewildered the sweet Pole folk with what can only be described as “poor choices;" he even bordered on being bad-listed!

Somebody decided that enough was enough and laced his eggnog with poison at the Annual Christmas Eve party.  His death comes as a guilty relief to most, but now there’s no Santa to deliver the gifts at midnight.  The Pole Folk must discover the killer, in order to convince someone else to step up to be Santa and save Christmas!

For once, the North Pole has a secret that is too big to keep.

A scripted Christmas mystery set on Christmas Eve, at the North Pole.

This is it!  It's Fairfield High's big prom night and everyone is ready to celebrate.  The whole class of 1959 is here including the cheerleader and her football-star boyfriend, the class rebel and his current fling as well as the class bookworm. But appearances can be deceiving.  Someone here is not as nice as someone in their position in the school should be.  In fact, someone here has many enemies - all well deserved.  Prom night is supposed to be one the happiest nights in anyone's life...but for someone present this is their last night alive.

Filled with humor and a healthy amount of teen-lingo (1950s style) this is the chance for everyone to laugh as well as solve the mystery.

This mystery with a "Grease"-like feeling is set at Fairfield High in 1959 with everyone is dressed in their best and ready for the night of their lives. With a running time of approximately 1 1/2 hours, this is a scripted event best suited for a dinner theatre-type presentation.

Murder at the Dunmore Lodge
By: Lawrence Locke
15+ Guests / Ages: 18 - 99

Rated:

Scripted:
The weather service predicted a record snowfall and, for once, they were right. Thirty six inches of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours and it is still snowing. To make matters worse two separate avalanches have wiped out the eastern and western arms bridges.

The only sign of civilization between the two bridges is the historic Dunmore Lodge, once a grand old Lodge catering to the elite of society it is now little more than a glorified bed and breakfast. But now this Lodge has suddenly become the difference between life and death for anyone trapped between the two bridges.

One by one the newly stranded begin arriving at the Dunmore and snatching up the wealth of available rooms. The most famous of the stranded guests is Senator Alexander Khun who was on his way to Washington D.C. to announce his intention to run for President. But the following morning Senator Khun is found with a knife in his chest, very much dead. Two realizations come very quickly to the minds of the remaining guests: the murderer must be someone at the hotel and, thanks to the ongoing storm and impassable bridges, they are all trapped there with him ... or is it her?

This game is meant to be acted out like a Dinner Theatre if front of any number of guests. Whether it is actually done as a dinner theatre or in a more informal party setting is entirely up to the discretion of the host. The game setting is a quaint country Lodge in Vermont, far removed from any urban center.

The passengers of a tour ship are shipwrecked on a desert island.  The newcomers soon discover that the island is already occupied with castaways.  These castaways are trapped in the decade they arrived at the island; they have lost contact with civilization, although occasionally they hear crackles from the two way radio they were able to salvage from the wreckage of their boat.  Now the radio has been misplaced by one of the castaways.  Or, is somebody intentionally sabotaging attempts of rescue?  Who would take the radio, and why?  To make matters worse, they discover that the island doesn’t have enough water for everybody.  It’s up to the passengers to find the missing radio before the water is gone, and all hope of rescue is gone.

A lighthearted mystery (no murder) targeted to a large group of young teens with a lot of energy and imagination!  This is a spoof on reality- and classic- TV shows.

Playa del Loco, Love Boat Style

Sunny Daze has done everything she can to keep her struggling travel agency afloat.  Travel websites have lured away all but her most loyal customers.  Without the customer volume she once boasted, she just can't compete with the online discounted prices.

Desperate to reclaim customers, Sunny promotes an exclusive cruise package traveling to Playa del Loco, an all inclusive beach resort in Mexico.  Traveltown.com can't possibly cut into her sales because she made up the destination.  There is no such beach!

Sunny sells out the voyage.  However, it doesn't take long for the crew and passengers to realize that they're headed to a bogus destination.  The crew is outraged; friends are hurt that Sunny tricked them too.

Right after the ship sets sail, a scream and a splash is heard.  Sunny has been thrown overboard.  It's up to the passengers to figure out who pushed her over the edge.

This is a fun, large group mystery where the murder is 'just a big misunderstanding'.  The cruise ship theme accommodates parties from teens to college to corporate.  Team building options are easily incorporated.   A pool is helpful for the “scream and splash” scene, but not necessary.
